Jessica and Lee’s USF wedding at the Marshall Center was a sweet soiree filled with laughs, tears, and a whole lot of love! When I first met up with Jessica and Lee (Jessica being a high school friend of mine) they gushed over their not-so-traditional way of meeting. A few years after Jessica’s first husband sadly passed away, she started feeling she might be ready to explore the dating world again, but was still hesitant- at the urge of her family and friends she gave online dating a chance. One of the first guys she met there was Lee!
Their story, which was shared during the speeches had people laughing (and crying) in their seats, and I was one of them! Lee, who agreed to a “free 5 day trial” on this online dating site, was “matched” with Jessica on his very first day! After reading her profile and story, he was smitten and immediately sent her a message, which she did not respond to. Lee persisted and sent another message the next day- because as he tells it, he “only had 4 days left of his trial period!” LOL
What Lee didn’t know is that Jessica was not able to read his messages without paying the site’s fee of $39.95. So what did she do? She paid the $39.95 and the two hit it off right away! When it came time for them to meet for the first time in person though Jessica got a bit nervous again…it was her sweet Mother in Law (her late husband’s mom) that actually convinced her to go for it…”Jess- life is for the living…” (cue the tears)… “besides it’s not like you’re going to marry the guy!” (cue the laughter!)
In the end, they went on that first date and the rest is history!! And one day before their wedding, Lee actually wrote Jessica a check for $39.95! How stinkin’ cute, right? It was amazing to hear about their beautiful beginning.
With the support and love of family and friends, the two married and became a family of 7! It was precious to see Jessica and Lee incorporate all of their children into the ceremony. You just can’t deny the love and bond these two have for each other. From the green and gold cupcakes, to the USF wedding cake, this Tampa wedding was a blast to be apart of. Here’s to wishing Jessica and Lee a lifetime of love and happiness. It was such an honor to be part of your day friends!
