As I look back at our last 10 years of our marriage, it’s hard to believe that our story is only beginning! It feels like I have been sharing my world with this man for my entire life and I can’t imagine where I would be without him…he is my best friend, my teammate and my rock.
A little over 12 years ago I walked into my new job to meet my co-workers and ran into a spiky haired, charming, smart-ass of guy (you can read more about our beginnings HERE) and changed my life forever. 2 years after that, on a sunny Florida afternoon we said our vows…vows to be there for one another during the good and bad times, to support each other’s dreams and to LOVE one another. Well…10 years later, I can say we’ve done just that.
We have been there for the good…the many, many happy moments we’ve shared – buying our first house, graduations, traveling to beautiful places together and for the amazing times- finding out we were having a baby, then being in the room waiting to hear that baby cry for the first time…3 times. We made 3 beautiful babies that rule our world and have our hearts in their palms.
We have been there for the bad… the times of disagreements (thankfully not too many), the trying times when you’re both starting out new jobs and money is short, when one of us wanted just throw in the towel and give up whatever was challenging us at that time…And during the really hard times- those moments that change your life forever – our baby boy being diagnosed with *autism, my mom fighting and passing away from cancer. In each of those moments- we held each other tight and through the tears always knew we had each other.
We have supported each other’s dreams… schools, degrees, career changes and life goals. I would not be able to do the job I do without the unbelievable support and encouragement from Doug.
And we definitely have LOVED each other. Our last 10 years have been filled with so much love and so much laughter…there are so many reasons but one thing for certain that keeps me falling in love with this man every day, is how much he can make me laugh. 10 years of joy, adventures, challenges, losses, successes, lessons, memories, happiness, laughter and always LOVE.
Happy 10 years my love. Thank you for the amazing chapter in our story, I can’t wait to write more with you!
