It was a little like driving in England, where the steering wheel is on the right side of the car…not like I know from experience but I imagine it would feel like this did… a little…odd. It’s been a while since I’ve had some head shots done and I needed to update them for the my website and some for the blog…so I lined up a session with the very talented Mr. Douglas Hemminger (aka. the husband)…but being on the other side of the camera took me some getting use to. I had to keep fighting the urge to go check the settings, the angle, making sure my pose was the way I wanted it, etc… in the end, I listened to the directions from my photographer -who basically banned me from getting near the camera anymore- I trusted his skill and vision and loved the results!
I mean, Doug has been shooting with me since the beginning and is my second shooter for all my weddings (he’s been known to calm the nerves of many a groom with his “married guy” wisdom and funny banter) so I don’t know why I had such a hard time letting him do his thang– but I think it may be a little to do with the freaky control master inside me…just a little.
Of course besides my awesome photographer I need to say “Thank you” to Tanya Marie for the miracle she did with my hair and Lacey Howard for my make up- If you need a amazing and talented Hair Stylist or Make-up artist, these are the girls to call!
Here’s a few from the fun session I had with my husband- who if you haven’t had the privilege of meeting yet, I hope one day you do- because he’s the bomb! 🙂
Seriously! Some models are so unprofessional! 😛
