|Our Paris Adventure |
As soon as I arrived back home from my “Kansas wedding adventure”, my sweet hubs said to me he wanted to surprise me with a mini vacay…he must have read my mind lol. Unfortunately with 3 human kids, one fur one and my photography Fall season on the edge of starting- there’s a ton of planning and coordinating to do to get away even for a few days..and he knew we had to do the planning together.
We thought about a quick trip to NYC or even the WestCoast… but as we started looking at flight and lodging prices a window on our Travelocity site pop-up with a picture of the Eiffel Tower. We looked at each other and thought…”Could we?”
Our oldest kiddo, Evan, was 2 years old when we last went away by ourselves…he’ll be 11 next month so you could say we were wayyy overdue and Paris was definitely a way to make up for it!
A week later, after a lot of coordinating and with the help from our loved ones, we landed in Paris at 7am (around 1am our time) and hit the floor running…On our way to our hotel I caught a glimpse of the Tower and must admit, I got a little sniffly. Paris has been at the top of my bucket list since forever and being there with my love made it such a surreal and amazing experience.
Every corner of this magical city is filled with so much culture and history. Just walking down the cobble streets and getting lost in the charming neighborhoods is unforgettable and so romantic. Of course the photographer in me could not stop wanting to take a picture of EVERYTHING but I also wanted to soak in all the beauty with my own eyes and be present in the moment as a much as possible…(and also, not drive Doug cray!! lol)
Some things that stood out to me were:
We were there for only 3 days and I will hold those days dear in my heart forever…especially being able to share it with my Doug…and I can’t wait to return as soon as humanly possible. Maybe next time we’ll take the kids….maybe 😉
First glimpse of the Tower I had…as we walked towards it.
You guys…my husband is the best human I know…and he loves me ya’ll. This man got up on his one vacation in 10 years at 6am in 43 degree weather, got dressed up and lugged all the gear and tripod to take these pictures with me. He doesn’t live for pictures like I do but he knows how much it meant to me and did with a smile…he does things like that all the time. I am one blessed and lucky girl that he’s mine ???? #tripodselfies
