Powel Crosley Wedding
Caitlin and Chris’ spring wedding at the Powel Crosley Estate was a beautiful custom soiree that literally blew me away. In fact, I can promise you one thing, you have never seen a DIY wedding like this before. Not only did this couple design their own invite suite and crest, but they even wax sealed the invites and menus themselves! They also hand wrote the shells with their guest’s names for each place setting. The sheer talent of these two is going to make your jaw is going to drop!
From Caitlin: Chris and I designed, drew, and painted the invitations ourselves! We also did all of the individual wax seals, and I added all of the gold leaf by hand. I drew the map of our relationship (the museum where we had our first date, the waterfront where Chris proposed, and the crosley for our venue) with a lyric from our song (Can’t Help Falling in Love With You) at the top.
Caitlin started the day off getting ready with her bridesmaids in the cutest decorated room with balloons spelling out “Best Day Ever!” She had a smile on her face the whole time that proved it really was the BEST DAY EVER and she shined in her Lazaro wedding gown! I loved her bridesmaids too, in their sparkly mix match BHLDN dresses.
If you’ve never been to Powel Crosley Estate, you are missing out on some serious eye candy!.. As the ceremony commenced, wedding coordinator Alexis from Blush by Brandee Gaar left no detail left untouched. Everything was perfect and cocktail hour was officially on it’s way!
From Caitlin: For Cocktail hour we had custom Moscow mule mugs made with our crest and put on a wall as the display cards and wedding favors. We did all of the design ourselves! We also designed the place settings ourselves. I edged each shell with gold leaf, and hand wrote each name on the shell. I also painted and designed the menus! 🙂
The details of this wedding were so thoughtful and pretty, I felt like I was shooting a spread for a bridal magazine. Not only were Caitlin’s personal touches eye-catching, but the venue itself had its own beauty which only added to the ambiance of the day!
As the night went on, the love and happiness that these two had for each other was contagious. I saw smiles on everyone’s faces. They were all so genuinely happy for this sweet couple. We ended the evening with streamers, an amazing grand exit on a boat that Chris set up as a surprise for his bride!
Caitlin and Chris~ You guys know I simply adore you and your love! Thank you both so much for letting me be a part of such a special day, it was a joy and an honor to be there!
