If you are anything like me you take more pictures with your phone than with your camera…Yes, I am a photographer and I admit it- my kids have more Instagram pics than regular pics…because while I am a photographer, I am a mom first. A mom of two mischievous and hilarious kids- who like most won’t wait until I pull out my camera to show me how they can unreel a whole toilet paper roll in .6 secs or how they can paint on each other’s face with black sharpies; you know…fun stuff like that! For the convenience and speed which you can snap a picture of whatever fun activity they happen to be doing, my phone is the most realistic and practical way of catch these everyday memories. (Although I am working on a personal project in which I will take their “camera” pictures more often, I hope to show to you soon).
Now, while it may be more convenient, the thing I have always disliked about phone images is that I never really printed them, unlike my camera images. This is a problem, as I am a big promoter of printing your images- regardless of how you take them- your memories look better out of your phone or computer 😉
So last month a friend of mine showed me an App called “Printic” which has turned out to be loads of fun yet very addicting… Printic is a convenient and inexpensive way of printing the pictures that are in your phone and having them sent directly to your home. They almost look like the old Polaroids, with a small white space under the image to leave blank or where you can write a little message/ date/ story- whatever. Each pic costs .99 cents and comes in this charming orange envelope. A cute idea is sending them to your family or friends with a special note… I’ve sent some to my mom of the kids and to a friend after a girls night dinner we had together!
If I got one of these in the mail,it would certainly brighten my day!
