Miriam and Hedwin is a story of destiny and love. The kind of story that proves that when two people are meant to be, neither time nor distance will keep them apart.
Let’s go back for a minute, waayy back….Over 20 years ago, Miriam lived in Tampa- she was a sweet little girl who was kind and fun to be around (I can personally vouch for that- how? More on that below 😉 ) She used to play with the kids in her neighborhood all the time and made many friends easily, but a few years later, her family moved back to Mexico and she lost touch with many of them- although she kept a few of them very close to her memory and her heart….
Fast forward to 2011…She was working for a medical company that sent her to Tampa on business, and she loved the idea of catching up with a few of her old friends. One of those friends invited her over to dinner and when she arrived, to her surprise, it was a birthday dinner for Hedwin, one of the kids she used to play with in her old neighborhood and one that her heart had not easily forgotten….they talked all night, caught up on old times and never looked back!
A sweeter and more genuine love than Miriam and Hedwin’s is hard to come by. Their intimate and loved-filled wedding was held at the beautiful St. Paul’s Catholic Church and it was a true pleasure to be there to capture their love and their vows.

A little story
I told you above, how I could personally vouch that Miriam was a sweet and awesome friend to hang out with as a little girl over 20 years ago on a personal level and here’s how….
When I moved back to the States after living in Peru for over 9 years, I was a VERY shy and introverted little girl. I knew very little English, since I had left the U.S when I was only 1 and missed my family and friends terribly. But then along came Miriam, the very first friend I made in school. A friend I could actually talk to and play dolls with, a sweet person to hang out with and not be so shy around. She and I became very close and did everything together- but sadly, my friend moved back to Mexico a few years later and although we wrote letters to each other often, (there was no internet and long distance phone calls where super expensive back then) we eventually lost touch….
Again, let’s fast forward to 2013, as Miriam was making plans and preparations for her wedding day in Tampa and looking for a wedding photographer (and doing it all from Mexico). Here’s the fun part: We actually have a mutual friend…who gave her my name…and that when she saw written down- recognized immediately.
She called me that night and asked me if I remembered her….to which all I could do was squeal and talk in my high-pitch-squirrel-super-excited voice in and say- OF COURSE I remember you my sweet friend!!
