Oh Kansas…This destination wedding was one for the books in SO many ways! Because when me and my second shooter, Sam, prepared for our flight- we never expected the adventure that awaited us! And long story short…due to some flight delays and other crazyyy road blocks (no pun intended) we had to move earth and sky to get to Kansas on time and I’m so proud of how we made it happen! We drove through the night and all morning, straight to the bridal suite, just in time to start shooting the day…and still rocked this wedding! The story is way too long to tell here, but if you want to see ALL the things that happened- head over to my insta and check out the “Kansas trip” highlights 😉
After a crazy night that started at 3:30 am that morning we arrive to the sweetest and most beautiful couple and their gorgeous Kansas wedding! From the crimson red palette to the deep greens and ivory, this wedding was nothing short of romantic.
Lindsay and Greg started their special day with a ceremony at their local church. Lindsay looked perfect in her beaded sheath dress from White Dress Bridal and Morilee. I love seeing the white bride paired with her bridesmaids against the deep red tones. Simply breathtaking. After the bride and groom said their “I do’s” and walked down the alter together, they were greeted outside with a bubble exit and a big white bus that would haul them off to the reception.
I took full advantage of the Kansas scenery and made sure to capture the new bride and groom down the back roads with fields you only see in the movies. (This is definitely not something I get to work with in Tampa too often!)
As the dust settled we headed to the reception where Lindsay and Greg had the perfect set up awaiting us. Every detail was exquisite including the seating chart on a natural wood slab, custom calligraphed table settings, floral rings, burning candles, and the cutest popcorn buffet. As the first dances commenced, the water works flowed and I saw so much love surrounding this sweet couple.
The couple’s guests were not shy on the dance floor and I had so much fun photographing everyone letting it loose. After all, Lindsay did warn them that the open bar concept meant all shenanigans would be captured. Lindsay and Greg’s family and friends were such a fun group~ There was so much joy celebrating this lovely couple!
Thank you both for allowing me to capture your beautiful day. Being able to be there for your special day was so important to me and you two were amazing to work with. Congratulations Lindsay and Greg!
