Hi there! My name is Aliciana…I will be today’s guest blogger for Ailyn La Torre aka. Momma.
Today’s lesson : Giving Change a Chance.
Sometimes, when change happens TO us instead of BY us, we tend to stress it, fight it and shut down any opportunity to accept it with a positive attitude.
Personally, I didn’t like change, I use to think if things are working fine- why change them?…Like why did I have to use these new “thingys” momma put in front me to eat now? I thought my hands were working just fine! I didn’t know how to work them, what they did or why I now had to use something new to eat. And as I turned it, poked it, twisted it and bang it on my table I just got more and more frustrated with this…Thingy!
I didn’t want to accept this change done TO me.
But I was kinda hungry…I happen to really like my yum yum so, I decided to work withthe change instead of against it. I made the decision to approach this with a positive attitude.
I thought…why not just see if I like the…F-O-R-K? maybe if I gave it a chance, it would actually help me eat faster? or eat yummier things- like peaches!…I could never grab those suckers properly before!
And to my surprise, it was better! This Fork thingy actually let me pick up food faster and it made me feel like a big girl. Momma was so proud when I used it the right way! She said I did a good job 🙂
So…my lesson today goes like this:
Give yourself the opportunity to learn something new (no matter how old you are), learn to accept change as a gift instead of a punishment, ask yourself ” What do I have to lose by giving it a chance?”…Just think you could eat Peaches too!
